IS LOWERING BAD?!?!?!?!
Tie rods are loose and this is caused by lowering a car????? i took my car to the dealer and they diagnosed that the tie rods are loose... for my 2 front wheels.. my "advisor" said that they have to be replaced because they are really beaten! and this was caused by my lowering springs
????? i have Eibach Sport Suspension on my 97 A4.. i know a lot of you have lowered your cars..
i have lowering springs only and i've had them for about 3 months
feedback appreciated.. thanks

Re: IS LOWERING BAD?!?!?!?!
I don't know for certain and I don't have any experience with this, but I doubt it was your springs because:
1. I've never seen any post of people complaining about this and,
2. Clair offers Eibach springs to go on the A4.
I could be totally off though. Maybe it had something to do with just having the springs and not a better shock. Dunno.

3 things...
I think the springs you are referring to are similar in terms of lowering (1 1/2" from stock)to what Audi itself sells, so either the dealer is trying to blow you off or Audi has made a huge mistake.
Tie rod ends do wear out on stock height vehicles too. My F250 required tie-rod ends at 60,000 miles. No abuse (highway drivign only), no suspension mods.
Audi currently has a recall for loose/worn tie-rod ends, so it seems the stock unit design/quality for at least some years isnt up to snuff.

Let's try again...(or I'm just blind)
I know about the TSB's, but what about *recall* information? It doesn't seem to be covered on that site, and it's not on the Audi USA site (go figure). Am I missing something?
