MAF Sensor Question
I've searched the forums but have not been able to find anything that addresses my specific problem. I purchased a MAF sensor from ECS tuning that said would fit my car (2001 A4 1.8T, manual fwd AWM engine). When I pulled out the headlight to get to the air filter & MAF housing it appears that the housing connects across the width of the filter and then sort of funnels up to the MAF sensor. The housing they sent me was just the typical cylinder shape. Am I missing something? I bought the car with 40K miles, could the previous owner have made some type of modification here? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Hey sorry about that, clearly I am an idiot. I was looking at the part coming off the second air filter on the driver's side (? - did not realize the car had two air filters). I pulled off the air filter cover and replaced the MAF, all my engine lights are gone!
In doing so, I was fumbling with the wiring harness to the MAF when removing and broke a small plastic piece on the clip (that snaps closed). The wiring harness still fits snugly and then that rubber stopper seems to keep it in place, will this pose a problem in the future?
