Default Which Mintex Redbox Pads?

For the front pads for a 2001 A4 1.8T sedan, APR lists Mintex part number 1826 while AWE Turning lists part number 1531. APR suggests using 1531 for up to MY2000 but not for MY2001.

Anyone know who is right and/or what the difference is between the 1531's and the 1826's?

The Mintex website was no help.

Thanks.

Default the difference may be the pad wear sensor... one has it, the other does not

Check with the retailer to see if the ones you are about to buy are equipped with the pad wear sensor.

The connector on the Mintex is not the same for your Audi, so if you want to use it, you have to splice in the one from your used factory pads.

Otherwise, you can go without and short the wires on your car to trick the car into thinking the connector is attached.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. Both APR and AWE claim that the pads have the wear sensors so that isn't the difference (unless there is a connector difference between the two pads).

I did not know that the Mintex connector was different than on the stock pads so I did learn from your post!

Thanks! I'll be calling you guys tomorrow. If I had been planning better I would have ordered these from you guys at the same time as I got my 8mm spacers from you a month or so ago.
