modding my 2.8Q?
Hey all,
I just bought a 99.5 A4 2.8 QMS
i was wondering what people recommend for tuning it, the milage is somewhat high around 125k. but I'm just curious what kind of performance mods one would suggest for this car. it seems that a chip intake and exhaust have very limited returns, and the only way to make real power is a s/c.
but how will that effect the dependability of my auto.
I've also heard people talking about the G1 and the G2 supercharger. I can find links to the PES G2, but none for the G1. what are the main differences?

you've essentially answered your own question... good job searching.
not sure of the tq limitations on stock 2.8 tranny...
i know one of the SCs sits on top of the motor while the other hangs out where the stock airbox is, iirc... but i could be wrong. power-wise: no idea.

Pulleys yield horsepower along entire curve ...chip , exhaust , MAF and velocity stack are about it.
I'm doing MAF DIY now and velocity stack DIY . Stack needs cut down more and the MAF is apart now, not like in picture and is ready to be worked.
Too busy lately, with work and family.

Just took MAF apart tonight .
One of the screws holding in the plate on rear was a real bastard to remove .It took me about 45 minutes with two different philips then when rounded out a straight screwdriver and visegrips .

When you have a mortgage and daughter starting college in two years like I do , a supercharger is only a dream. Basic old style induction and exhaust mods and chip will be about all I'll ever do on this car. The supercharger is great instant horsepower and from what I've seen reliable , but its bound to stress the drivetrain parts more, all mods do when you get upwards in HP on any car. Its just an expected part of motorsports.
