Modifying a tiptronic???
Don't know if I am nuts or not, but... With the tiptronic, I am pretty sure that you push the lever forward to upshift, and down to downshift. This seems backwards to me, with all those flightsimulators, and with the CART, etc... racing cars. Is it just me or does it seem more logical to pull back to upshift, and puch forward to downshift?
My Question:
Has anyone looked under the tip lever, to see if you could switch around some wires, to make the shifting in "reverse?" Can this be changed with a tiptronic chip? And if any of that is possible, and "sane," then is it possible to get under the tip housing and flip around the shifting indicator lights? (Flipping the "+" to where the "-" is and vice versa...
Just some random thoughts... I will probably wind up with the 6spd. S4, but something about being able to shift on the steering wheel just makes my face light up. : ) (While on that topic, I don't know if I would want to swith the direction of the switches on the steering wheel too... hmmm....

What I think that...
it'll sound more comfortable to me in the original state (forward upshift, backward downshift) This sounds more like if there's a shopping cart, you push it to make it move faster, and if you want to lower it down from a fast speed, you pull it back...so for me, 'forward' == upshift == push faster, 'backward' == downshift == slow it down (assume you're not accelerating with a forced lower gear) =)

You are correct, it is backward...
...the sequential shifters on the BTCC and WRC cars are forward to downshift and backward to upshift. For that matter, motorcycle shifters are that way too.
I've had my A4 1.8TqTS for over a year now and I still get mixed up after watching the BTCC videos.
