Default Depends on how you land.

If you land squarely on the roof, our cars won't be any better off than a honda.

Default who would know anyway? Are there stats of people surviving vs dying from a collapsed roof?

One thing a steel tubular race seat has is extra reinforment above your head via the tubular structure. Would this fair better than a full fiberglass shell seat or the stock headrest? I don't know. Accidents are too dynamic. If getting too serious into racing, then definetely time for a fully caged car. And I have seen 2 A4's roll. A roll itself didn't cave in the roof line. Stayed intact. However, if it somersaulted and landed on it's roof - goodbye - and I am willing to bet, a stock seat won't save that person.

or email them to me? I am also curious to see how the Audi performs.. I haven't seen any of the pillars really fail or buckle in any of the accidents I have seen.

Default Those were artilcles printed in the paper. Not rumors.

They may have been inaccurate -

The couple I heard now have seperated. I assume one is sueing the other.

Frankly though - driving a roadster w/o a roll bar is pretty lame. I installed one on my 124 Spyder in the early 70s in St Louis because I did not like the options in a accident.
