Default more misfire on cylinder 3--is it possible ECU is fubar?

99.5 1.8tip
since I've gotten CEL for misfire on cyl. 3, I've done the following:
- replaced plugs with NGKs and verified gap
- replaced ignition control module
- swapped and verified coil packs are ok
- swapped and verified fuel injectors are ok
- compression test (210 on all 4 cylinders)

Last, I threw a diagnostic light on the wires that attach to the coilpacks. the good cylinders caused the light to blink but the bad cylinder gave a steady light--no flash.

I'm guessing the problem is either the wiring, or more likely, the ECU. Any ideas? Anyone want to donate an ecu to the "Fix the misfire" foundation? j/k but thanks for any info.

Default Do a search on "power output stage unit"

some one did a great tech article on how to test it. You might have a bad one.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1594531.phtml">This one here</a></li></ul>

Default I already replaced ignition control module--same thing

I used that writeup to diagnose it was bad. Tried to fix it myself but it's impossible unless you have soldering skills.

Default Sorry didnt read your post carefull enough, im out of ideas

I kinda doubt it would be the ECU though. That would seem strange that there was a malfunction in the ECU but it only caused one problem and that one problem was a misfire on one cylinder.
