Mud flap install success - including bottom front clips (pic)

Someone posted a couple weeks ago that when he installed the front mud flaps, he felt that the bottom clips "weren't really holding on to much."
I found out why - there are two ways you can install the bottom clips for the front mud flaps - around just the inner fender protector, or around that plus a little piece of frame that juts out right next to it.
At first it looks like they're too far apart, and the clip won't be big enough to go around them both. But the inner fender is flexible, so if you push on it while positioning the clip, you can get it around both. The result is a very secure install.
toms noted below that on the right side of the car you have a plastic cover that's in the way to contend with. He's right, and I found that by putting the little rubber mounting flap between the inner fender and the frame extension, there is enough room between the frame ext and the plastic cover to tap the clip in w/ a hammer to get it started. Thus, the back side of the clip is not actually touching the mounting flap.
I'll post a FAQ on mudflap installation later tonight.

OBTW, you don't need to drill to install the rear flaps...
The screws that come with the rear flaps are self-tapping, and the inner fender is suprisingly exactly the right hardness to make it reasonably easy to self-tap w/ one hand, while being strong enough to accept a good solid tightening of the screw.
As indicated, however, you DO have to remove the rear wheels 8-)
