My newest mod: Aux in for Concert
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/1181/img_0161.jpg"></center><p>
This is a simple variation of SF Allroad's "Simple hack to add direct audio input of your iPod to your Concert or Symphony Radio"
https://forums.audiworld.com/audio/msgs/37145.phtml
The line goes from the back of H/U, to the armrest area, then taps into the existing wiring up to the arm rest storage bin. I made a simple audio cable with mini plug/RJ45 male on the ends to connect my iPaq.
Total meterials should cost around $5.00 to $10.00
- 1 RJ45 male plug($0.50?)
- 1 RJ45 female connector(I took one off a dead network card. Otherwise about $3-$5 from RadioShack or HomeDepot)
- 1 mini audio plug (I use a $1 earbud from dollar store. Or you can get some nice gold plugs form RadioShack)
- 1 blank CD-R ($1.00)
Tool
- RJ45 crimper, or you can use a small flat head screw driver to press in pins if you don't have a crimper.
Not as easy/elegant as Jeff Bipe's Plug n' Play solution ( http://jbipes.home.comcast.net/ttr/auxin4.html ) but hey...<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/audio/msgs/37145.phtml">Simple hack to add direct audio input of your iPod to your Concert or Symphony Radio</a></li></ul>

Re: My newest mod: Aux in for Concert
I have a solution that falls right in the middle between Jeff Bipes unit ($150) and this unit ($10 but a huge hassle). There is a device called "Neo Auxin" (Google it) that is able to add Aux Inputs to any 1998-2004 Audi.
Even better, I called about a week ago to the place that makes them because of a CD changer I was installing in my A4 and they told me within two weeks they will have a version of the Auxin made special for iPod to input audio directly to the Audi stereo and allow the Audi stereo to control the iPod using steering wheel controls or standard buttons on the deck. At last - a low cost solution!
