My Zero-Cost '98 Headlight Mods
After re-aiming my '98 headlights I still wasn't satisfied, so I brought the left unit in the house to study it. I took it apart and removed the little "lamp shades" covering the low beam and fog lamp bulbs. BIG difference! Plus, I got another benefit from this: a part of the reflector unit that isn't supposed to have light hitting it just happens to be shining a small beam up and to the left -- perfect for reading street signs, but not offensive to oncoming traffic. I'll do the right side this weekend maybe.
I'll finally be satisfied with my lights! And to think I was about to lay out some cash for some ultra-white-super-crystal-blue-high-watt-wire-melting-prematurely-burntout bulbs!!
If anyone has questions about taking the lights out/apart (actually pretty easy) I'd be happy to help.
