Default n00b question..

How long can I go with a power steering pump near its death? Am I at risk of ruining the rack or anything else? I'm hoping I can wait a month for this repair....when I have money.

Default i would find some way to get the money

if you dont know exactly how long its gonna last, then you're at risk

my engine mounts, i tried to wait til after christmas when i had the money for the 300$ job... well didnt hold that long and it turned into a 800$ job when they broke... (search for "engine mount disaster" to see my mess)

if you absolutely have to make it last, i would drive VERY carefully. don't hold the wheel all the way left or right any, and dont make hard turns. dont accelerate fast or do anythign to bounce or slide your car around...

id try and find a way to do it, borrow money or something, bc if it breaks and you lose something else like me, you might be in way worse shape....

good luck man

edit: driving slow helps A LOT. my car used to break once a month, since ive baby'd it, no slides, no hard launches, no hard braking, no tight turns at high speed, no clutch dumps... my car hasnt broken in 3 months.... =)

Default 3 months...HOLY CRAP!!!!

<sarcasm> I don't know what it's like to own an Audi with no problems at all </sarcasm>

Oh wait....I really don't! :-)

Hopefully this summer I can catch up with repairs. Aside from the suspension, I think I have replaced everything else....

Looking forward to a brake job and tires (standard maitnence) and another run at fixing the climate control display. Plus some body work that is only 20% my fault.
