Name this sound!
A varying low drone emanates from the back of the car while driving. It seems to be rpm dependant as it escalates in volume sa the rpms rise. When cruising on the highway it maintains a wavering low drone in any conditions rain/snow/dry...etc. any ideas what this could be? could it be the muffler that needs to be replaced?

Wheel bearing. If it goes away around a corner, the direction of hte curve indicates the bad one.
if you go around a left hand bend, and the sound goes away, it's the left bearing that's bad. same for the right. Basically, when you go around a corner, the inside wheels have less force on them, and the bearings are under less stress, so they tend to quiet down during these light load periods.
