Default Only used in Europe... (long)

Paraphrasing from my dad's A6 manual: sets the volume at which the traffic announcements will be played.
In English: European radio stations have RDS, but use it for more than just station name display. When there is a traffic announcement, they send out a signal which suspends your tape, CD, or even another radio station, switch to this traffic announcement, and when it's done the radio does as before. You can set the volume for this traffic announcement, because otherwise you may want to have the radio muted, so that it knows at which volume it should scream at you for the traffic news.
In addition, the radio has the capability to store a few minutes of this travel info. Say you go to bed the even before a long trip, you tell the radio to listen for nav stuff, and in the morning it will play them back for you.
This system works really well all around Europe.
Stan
the Swiss guy
