Default ne1 drive with their 17" factory rims/tires in the winter?

I'm just debating in getting a set of steel rims/tires for the winter. I was thinking of investing the money from the steel rims and tires and putting them towards a new set of 18" rims/tires for the summer or maybe even mods for the car. If I drive the winter with the factory rims, how do I protect it from looking like crap after the winter season?

Default Nope - going to Sweden on Thursday for about 10 days, want to do it when I return...

I'm not sure whether I'll wait around for a show @ Pomona or buy online.

Whatcha think?

Default I just put 205/50/17 blizzak lm-22's on my factory 17's - and gave them a good wax.

Although three of mine are f%*ked anyways from the parking monkeys at my garage.

Default Better question, how do you protect your car from looking like crap after hitting a tree?

The rims will look fine as long as you clean them regularly...wax helps too. Your bigger problem is using inappropriate tires in the winter. If you think you'll be able to get away using high perf. tires on snow and ice...roll the dice now. Anything less than a 6, and your car stays in one piece for the winter. Anything more than a 6, and you win the new "winter tree mod" (and you thought Jags looked sexy with that kitty on the hood). Good Luck!
