Default NEED DESPERATE HELP from fellow AWers. ATTN: those with Neuspeed/Bilstein shocks....(more)

I bought a set of Eibach Pro Springs and some Bilstein shocks from a 98 FWD Passat owner in AW classified thinking I have non-sport. Low and behold I DO have sport suspension and the parts do not fit. Regardless I received the items with some missing parts after taking factory shocks/springs out. I have tried to reason with the seller and it does not seem that I am going to get much (anything?) from him. My only option is to get the missing parts from somewhere and try to sell the items back on Ebay or a VW/Passat forum. Any opinions and help is greatly appreciated as I have spent hundreds of dollars (broke) with no suspension mod any time soon. My vehicle is 99.5 A4 1.8t FWD Thank you all in advance.

Default having sport suspension doesn't change any components....

meaning, you use the same aftermarket springs/shocks on sport and non-sport setups.

Default passats don't use a spring over coil rear setup like our A4's. At least not in their fwd's for sure

that's the first prob you're running into.

Re: that make sense since the fronts seem like they will fit but rears are totally diff.

Default The Neuspeed Bilsteins I purchased (new) did not come with spring plates.

You need to reuse your factory plates with the new shocks. However, the Bilsteins DO come with little clips that slide into the perches on the shock body.

Fortunately there's a large enough Passat mod crowd that you shouldn't have much trouble selling the parts. Try vwvortex and clubb5. Good luck!

Re: Thanks for the insight Carol. Any idea where to find the little rings/clips? TIA

You could probably buy some from Neuspeed or Bilstein. You could also ask a machine shop to make 'em
