Default Need help ASAP with code

Hello,

I love this forum. You guys/gals are great and intelligent.
I had my check engine light come on yesterday out of the blue. It did not go off. So I had it scanned but not by Audi, using an OBD scanner. I got a code back 10:P1136. Obviously I know nothing about codes, so I called Audi and asked for a favour. They told me that the code means Bank 1 Mixture adaptation system to lean. So my question is any ideas what could be wrong?
The only thing I can think of was I cleaned my engine, based on the forum tech articles, 2 weeks ago. But I covered the part you guys recommended. Anyways, any ideas. I'd hate to bring it to audi to look at. The code has been reset but still want to fix the problem. Thanks everyone.

Default The code was reset, did it come back? If not, don't worry till it does...

lean running can mean a number of things, but usually it's temporary in our cars.. it could be just that the MAF got confused by a damp filter... the rich/lean readings come from the O2 sensors, but the other sensors work in harmony to try to keeep the mix happy BEFORE they have to adjust things after the O2 sensors complain.. it reads teh intake air flow, temp, throttle angle, boost pressure (on turbo cars) crank angle, cam angle, (both to calculate the ignition timing, which effects how the mix is burned..) to try to come up with teh best mixture possible.. naturally, sometimes it gets 'confused'.

Default Agreed, look at the vac hose on the front and back of the

manifold top. The back goes to the fuel rack and the front to the BPV. If not these, continue looking at other air hoses.

You guys are the best.

O.k I will look at the vac hose. Maybe I sprayed to hard. I will check just in case. I'm also liking Kris Hansen suggestion. I did not cover the MAF so maybe some water hit the air filter. Plus I live in canada and the weather is scorchin hot. The hottest summer. Maybe it is damp. But either way I will check.
If there are other suggestions please let me know. I will keep you updated. So far the light never came back and I drove it for about 2 hours after it was reset. I just wouldn;t want to let it go because if it came on there might be something wrong. I wouldn;t want to kill my engine. Thanks again guys.

Sam

Hey Guys,

I'm disappointed today. The Check engine light came back on today. So I'm gonna check the vaccum lines today. If it's not that, what else could I check. Since, I'm checking, I may as well check other things too. Any help will be great. Did I screw up the MAF by wetting it. Man, my engine should be dry by now it's been 3 weeks. Thanks again everyone.

Well guys,

Thank you very much for all your help. You guys were 100% percent right(well, I should probably say 99%) right because I still haven't changed it. We did locate a cracked vacuum line that goes from the top of the intake to .....Not sure where it goes too yet(looks like it goes to the air box). That line was definitely cracked. Today is Sunday, so I could not get a replacement line. I have to wait till tommorrow and then try and put that it and see if the code does not come back. Thank you once again. I love this forum.
