Default need help launching a4 at the line. . . . .

i just got back from the races and i noticed if i start my car from a high rpm it lags at the start. Anybody know why? My best time was 10.092 in the 1/8th mile with a 1.041 reaction time.

Default It's nearly impossible to consistantly launch an AWD drive car well...

You need just the right amount of clutch slippage. Too much and you'll bog the clutch (or worse). Revving it up and dropping the clutch just makes the EDL move the torque around, giving up a moment of hesitation. I still never duplicate a good launch everytime after a year and a half. Most launches are good, once in a while I totally bog it, and sometimes, when the stars align I dial it perfectly and the car just shoots like a rocket.

Default I did that once (perfect launch) Punk kid in the older RX-7 didn't know what hit him :}

He did the classic squeeze over to the right at a light on a one lane road. Thought this dude in the Audi is gonna just snooze and let me shoot right by...nope :}

Default The way I took launch on my 2.8.......

I drop the clutch half way at 3800-4000, when the car start rolling, I quickly hit the gas and clutch at the same time then let go the clutch. I did this all the time and the car seem to lauch pretty quick, it alway pull my head alway back to the seat evertime. I just love it

Default ok here's what i figured

ok today i just sat in my car on an epty street trying to figure out which way helps the most. when i hold it at like 3500 rpm and just let go of the clutch and slam the gas my car jump and then bog's before it goes. when i just rev it up hard and let go of the clutch it jumps alittle better but not as good as i would like it too. anybody else that has tried launching their car and has had better success please let me knoe.

Default You let your clutch go half way or all the way ?

I found that let clutch go half way and then push back slam on the gas hard and let the clutch go all the way, it will take of like bat out of hell.
