Default Need help plugging V1 into fuse box somehow...

...I've done a lot of reading up on this and I'm still not sure what the possibilities are. I've got the power adapter from Valentine and it's got this little adapter on it which looks like the right side of this picture (https://store.valentine1.com/store/products/20310.gif). I need to somehow plug this into a fuse. I hear #27 is good to use so I'd be happy to use that empty spot. One guy said he just took the plastic boot around the metal of this connector off and just stuck the metal directly into the fuse slot.. Does this work? Is there a better way to do this? I haven't been over there yet but Radio Shack seems to think they don't have anything that could help me. Is there a part I can get which piggybacks and then I can plug this connector directly into it? Please help! TIA.

Default Get a volt meter!

When doing stuff like this, you have to make sure you get the right wire..

Default I'm not plugging into a wire, I'm plugging into the fuse, and it's a power *adapter*...

...and I know which fuse anyway, the #27 works... Just not sure how to connect it.

Default Personally, I cut off the connector on the red wire,

crimped a ring terminal from radio shack onto that end, and screwed it right to the 75X terminal behind the drivers knee bolster (switched power source). This eliminates the stray wires around the fusebox, and it doesn't involve cutting any factory wiring at all.

Default You can buy a fuse piggyback at almost any auto parts store

I did. But then I threw it away, and I decided to go all the way with my installation.

Here's a link, and it references my original link.

Hope it helps!<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/936320.phtml">Link</a></li></ul>

Default Yeah, just figured that out. You still had to change the connector on the V1 adapter though right?

And how did you choose a fuse? I don't have a voltmeter...

Default Like RKA below, I just cut off the connector...

I then cramp on a female flathead connector and plug that directly to the fuse tap.
