Default Need help quick.....new battery F'ed things up

WTF!!! I look in my manual(after the fact) and it tells me I need a VAG tool to reset kickdown(I have auto) and adpatatation to throttle valve control module BS. DO I have to buy a VAG tool to do this? Can I get one at Pep Boys, Autozone, etc?It says in the manual, or aftermarket equivalent can I get one of those or is there another way? Please help, this is my wife's car and she needs to get to work on Monday(I do too for that matter)TIA for quick responses.

hmmmm....you dont need a vag tool....but you need a scan tool that reads audis... so if you can find a vag it will work if you cant...look for a shop that works on VW or audi eather will have one...but there really isnt much you can do...at this time...id run it...buy changing the battery you have lost the RAM in the computer...it will start its self back up again and start to adapt all over again....not a huge deal...

Default I tried running it and it wouldn't shift...

when you let the gas off it would die. When it did shift it would ram into the next gear and I feared that I was going to drop the tranny right there. Anyway, thanks for your input.
