need a lifting jack
Time to put on the snow tires in MN!!
With my car lowered about an inch and a half, the typical bottle jacks at Wal Mart or Target don't start low enough to get under the frame.
Any suggestions?

Even roll-around floor jacks are too high...more
I use a typical 10 ton roll about floor jack and the standard cup-head just fits under the lift points of my A4 with the Eurosports (and out stock GSX). To ensure I do no damage to the car I use a hardwood block that fits in the jack cup and mirrisr the features of the car's jack points. But to use it I first have to lift the car an inch or so - insert a 6+" long 2x4 under the lift point - drop the jack - put the block in the jack cup and then lift the car.
I know Griots sells a European made jack with a special low cup but the price is way out there.
I have been thinking of having a machine shop weld me up something that plugs into the jack head to replace the cup and block with a single piece that does the same thing in a little less overall height (I need something like half an inch more clearance).
