Need Opinion on AWE purchase....what should I do? chip problems
I recently sent off my Tiptronic Transmission Computer to have the "Chip" put in, this was Wed. well today I got the computer back, I work at an Audi Dealership so I had the Shop forman reinstall my computer, well the trans computer is now not working at all, it is'nt communcating with the engine ECU at all, in fact when you plug in the VAG machine it shows error communicating, but when you dissconnect the trans computer it's fine!, well I was told by Mike at A.W.E. to remove the chip and put back my stock chip, he felt the chip was the problem, well I put the stock chip back in(Actually had the forman do it for me) and it STILL gave me the same errors, according to the mechanic, somehow my trans computer is now fried! It came back form A.W.E fried to begin with! What do you guys think I can do? I really cannot afford $570 for a new trans computer!! ugh! what would ya'll do if you were in my shoes!?

A.W.E's Standpoint........
Well, last time I talked to Mike, he thought the stock chip worked fine, he told me to send back JUST the chip and he would have a new chip back by tues. Well this was today @ 5pm and they closed before I could figure out that it was more than the chip, according to the Warranty(that you receive AFTER you buy the chip)They quote that the warranty does not cover any damages to anything else, and that the warranty only cover the chip itself! I'm just worried they will say "Well we don't cover the computer, you'll have to buy a new one ,ship it to us and we will replace the chip for you" I am the Customer Service Manager a t Rod East VW/AUDI in San antonio and I KNOW if I told a customer that while were working on her car the part we installed broke other parts and they were now responsible to pay to get those parts fixed they would tell me to go to hell!!! know whatta mean? I'm just trying to prepare myself for what they are going to tell me come monday morning!!

Okay...
...first, try and stay calm. It doesn't do anyone any good if you start flying off the handle. Being a customer service manager, you know that already. First, wait to see what happens with the new chip. If that doesn't get resolve the issue, then you definitely have a problem, but not with out options.
You can bone up the cash for the replacement comp assuming the responsibility that what happened was a result of your desire to upgrade.
or
Reason with AWE to mutually come to an acceptable solution for both parties involved.
I realize that they are not the best options available, but that's all I can foresee up to this point.
Good luck.
