Need some help.

I noticed my check engine light come on today. Is this a reminder to take it in or does it always mean something is wrong? Just two days ago the "ln 1" message started blinking so I was planning on taking it in, but now I'm concerned.

Tomorrow I'm going snowbaording and I don't want anything to happen in the mountains.

It's just reminding you that you need to take it in for a regular service interval (oil change).

Sometimes the reminders are not set at the proper mileage intervals. Check your manual to verify that it is indeed time for an oil change/service. If it is not, ignore the message, and tell your service advisor at your next service to adjust the "reminders" for the proper mileage intervals indicated in your manual.
