Default New Exhaust

Quick question. I'm upgrading my fiancee's 1.8T TipTronic, and just ordered a Neuspeed G2 Exhaust from SPP (great place, sure you know that) yesterday. Should I get a Stage 2 chip with it? Right now, the only modification on the 1.8T is an MTM Stage 1 chip, but I'm hoping to be getting a PES T-28 system here soon (the car is TipTronic, so I can't ever consider APR's Stage III). Therefore, I don't really want to spend any undue amount of money. Anybody with the MTM Stage 1 able to comment on its performance with other tuner exhausts? Thanks. Also, the recent PES T-28 reviews have really helped. Good job to all of those who wrote them.

List of the CO Audis in my garage:

Hibiscus Red (pin-striped) 99 A4 1.8TQ Tip: MTM Stage 1, Neuspeed G2 Exhaust (soon).

Brilliant Black 98 A4 2.8Q 5-sp: Not sure of previous owners modifications, but definitely lowered.

Default on the tip, i would prefer a k04, the t-28 is more suitable with a stick. imo (m)

but if you want a t-28 in the car, i would suggest getting the chip also.

I'm glad to hear that the exhaust is a good one; I've been researching for a long time to find a good system for the TipTronic 1.8T.

K04 you say? I was thinking the same thing, but either way I've reached the conclusion that I'd probably have to go to Level 10 for transmission upgrades. I figured as long as I was spending that kind of money, I would throw in the PES.

I do plan on getting a new S4 or A4 3.0Q to replace my old 98 A4 2.8Q late next year, so I would be happy to save the money for a PES 3.0 Supercharger.

Default I have ..

an MTM stage 1, and about to install a Miltek cat back exhaust + downpipe. Miltek make the MTM exhausts for MTM. ie a good product at 1/2 the price.

Default Why can't you get an APR SIII??

Am I missing something...you are suggesting that because of the Tip, you can't get a SIII, but you can get a T28?

APR only lists SIII available for 5spd on their website. I don't see TipTronic anywhere on there, whereas PES does show that the T-28 is available for their system. Maybe -I'm- missing something, but that's what it looked like.

Default Well, it might be worth a phone call...

I didn't realize they didn't list Tiptronic for their applications. My guess is that the amount of horsepower the kit puts out exceeds the tiptronic's ratings, but with either kit, you'll have the same problem. If that's the only issue, then both kits remain a possibility...but that's not exactly what you're concerned with right now.
