I have a 98 A4 2.8L AHA. Last week I had a no crank no start situation. Battery was good, alternator was good. After purchasing a cheap used starter/solenoid, a garage open on Sundays informed me no power at starter (i.e. starter OK). Long wait at Audi dealer (3 days, longer wait at Audi specialist)...so I took to electrical guru. 15 minutes later he had it solved - ignition switch faulty. He also hooked me up with a temporary bypass from relay (204) to (spot denoted on photo with arrow) to start the car while I wait for the dealer part ($36.50). Thought I would share.
