non pushdown vs. pushdown reverse

yours is non pushdown....you can tell because in order to put the the car in reverse-
in a pushdown car you actually have to push the shift **** down and then into gear. pre 99.5s had this pushdown style.

i just put it into reverse, i dont think there is any "pushing down" on the **** if thats what it means, does it?

though- some shortshifters can eliminate the pushdown feature
such as mine :-) its better not to have it, IMO, as then ignorant mechanics (in the rare occurance they touch my car) don't fvck up the shifter trying to force it into reverse. trust me- it happened to my saab 900, though that was a bit more difficult than the A4
