I lowered the shift **** height about 1" (via the adjujstable height post) on the AMS Short Shifter and it feels 100% better. I can really sense the shorter throw now. The distance that the **** had to travel over the arc was too far before. Only thing is that I cannot have my arm on the center armrest and shift easily- not a big deal. It's just very nice with how short the throw is now. I think I gained some "Mental HP" from it. It goes faster now 8^ )

The only thing that seemed kind of out of place was it wanted to go into other gears a couple times; like 4th to 3rd (instead of 5th). Or it got hung up on the in between spot. This has happened with OEM shifter as well. Not sure if the AMS SS is just naturally exacerbating the poor gear box design, or not. Can't see why it would. VW/Audi gear boxes are notoriously "anti-smooth" when it comes to shifting. Too notchy IMO.

did you try "pausing" like April said and still did it??

I've had mine at the lowest setting and the middle throw setting. Works great!
