Not your tylical dealer/chip question...
Howdy:
The engine check light came on i my 98 A4 1.8TQMS on Saturday, so I drove it home (slowly) and waited until Monday to take it in for service. Apparently, it needs a new power output stage control unit, which is back ordered in Germany and should be here hopefully sometime before new years. Anyway, here's my question: I have a Hoppen Chip, which I didn't tell the dealer about for obvious paranoid reasons, and I'm wondering if the power output stage control unit is part of the ECU, and will my ECU with the Hoppen chip be removed? Or is the power output stage control unit completely separate? Thanks for your help.
