NYC Smashed Window: Front Passenger Side
Mother @$#$%!~
I parked the car last nite as the rain started and tonite I walked to the car for some dinner plans and I notice that my armrest is up and all the stuff is thrown to the backseat.
I walk to the passenger side and am in shock that my front window is completely smashed, my glovebox is open and my GPS mount, charger, and GPS unit (which was in the glovebox) are missing.
There's glass everywhere and my digital tire gauge is gone too. Plus, they took my service/spare key and extra key fob from the car.
I know I need to replace the glass, but now, I'm worried about the missing key and keyfob. Anyone, know how much does it run to change out the locks?
What can I do about the missing key fob? Is there a way to change the frequency?
or am I screwed?

You can't change the frequency. You remove the key fob from the central lock computer.
I recall seeing estimates of up to $1200 when other people asked this question.

Changing a full set of locks by my estimation would be at least $1k likely more.
Depends on how many hours of labor you are charged to replace lock cylinders.
1 or 2 door cyl
1 ign cyl
1 trunk
1 glove box
0 or 2 rear seat.

Does that mean if I resync all the remaining remotes I should be ok? (pending the locks are changed?

$100 glass deductible, but seeing Carson's pricing is < $50, I have to check and see if it's
worthwhile, but I may have to file in anycase b/c of the locks.

Yes. I would wipe the memory and relearn any remaining fobs you have
That won't stop them from physically using the key, of course. But it will at least stop them from driving around and using the remote to find the car.
