OEM ECU failed
Got back into my 2001 1.8T after a 40 minute stop at a store. Engine would not even turn over. Checked all the fuses and they were ok. Called Audi and had the car towed to dealer.
Was told the chip had failed. Chip had to be ordered. Waited 3 days to get car back.
The car now feels like a brand new and different car. It feels like I originally thought an Audi engine and auto trans should operate. In the 3 days the dealer had the car, "it GREW UP" to be a fine car. This after I drove it for 2 years and 30,000 miles.
I feel cheated!!! Why did I have to drive what I now realize was a dog of an engine and transmision for 30,000 miles while other new A4 owners had the experience they paid for ie. driving a fine car?
I now have a new car but it is 2 years old. What would you do about this?
Also see my Post on Complete brake replacement at 28,000 miles for more of my story.
