Another ? concerning my shift ****...
I masked the lens as per your directions and I'm pretty sure I painted all the surfaces, nooks & crannies that were originally painted. However, now upon close inspection (which is to say only I'll ever notice) the tab on the right of the lens is visible, as if the depth of view there is deeper. I'm not sure if this is a good description, but basically it looks like a little clear window on the right side of the lens. Any advice?

Are you following me around? :-) j/k
Yeah, the instructions don't mention what to do in the case of the tab. If memory serves me correct, the tab sticks up higher so the mask should go under the tab. This will allow the paint to go on 3 sides of the tab. You can either mask off just the tab being careful to not rip the existing paint off and spray that OR spray some paint onto something clean and use a brush to paint the tab OR leave as is.
I too have a hint of a depth change on that side. I am going to refine the preocess on my next conversion to see if I can eliminate this.
Hope that helps.

I did mask under the tab, in fact I was very careful to mask only the very
edge of the lens, leaving the tab to be painted. It looked fine when I checked it prior to install, but something about being put back on the **** made it stand out. I'm afraid that if I try to pull the lens back out for more paint, the sticky tape may keep some of the decal. It really does look fine (actually great) I just wanted to do it perfectly. It really was easy, took only about 10 minutes not counting the time spent searching for something to strip the paint with. If I had to do it again, I'd be done in like 5 minutes. I used quick-dry floral paint and had the **** back in the car within the hour.

I think I will too. I was going to bid on the ebay ****, but it was already like $16-17 plus
five more dollars to you for another decal. Like I said, I'm very pleased with mine. I'll be posting pictures in about 10 minutes.
