Default OH NO!

I bought a '99 A4 with 75K on it. They kept encouraging me to change the timing belt. I figured I'd wait until the end of the summer. Now the check engine light came on and it's flashing. The car still runs just rough. Feels like it's missing a cylinder. Could it still run if it is the timing belt? Thanks guys.

Default Our cars are inteference engines. If the timing belt goes, your head is trashed.

However, you are playing with a loaded gun. Get it replaced now. Sounds like you might have a misfire situation.

Yeah I know. Would it still run though? I would think it would die. Does the number of times it flashes indicate anything?

I hope it's that and not the timing belt. I still have the dealer warranty. Do you remember your fault code?

Default I think the warning in the owners manual says stop driving if it flashes.

If it's the timing belt the car would not even run, you got some kind of ignition problem however you must really like to gamble if you are waiting on that belt.

That's what I thought. You're in the capital district? I'm in Syracuse.

Thanks. I'm going to have a friend put it on his computer.
