Oil sensor

Okay car started saying. Oil sensor in the center dash.

I take the it you've checked your oil level on the dipstick?

May be a sensor fault - only VCDS will tell you.

1.8T engine? Is it Red or yellow? If its red, its oil PRESSURE, if its yellow its oil level. If its red, it has low oil pressure. If its a 1.8T, you need to stop driving it immediately and have the oil pan removed and the pickup tube cleaned out or replaced, and bearings checked. It might seem ok, and have full oil but it is not lying or a bad sensor, its a known problem and at higher rpms it starves the engine and turbo of oil and causes damage. I always replace the turbo oil feed line from the oil filter housing because it too can carbon up and cause turbo failure.

Just had to have mine replaced. Yellow oil sensor warning come on. No temperature reading on the oil gauge, but water temperature was normal. This is the best replacement according to my shop.
