ok i give up on the archives, no dice. 01 s4 steering wheel - will it fit a 98.5?

I think it will. The break seems to be 97 for the older style hubs.

have you ever installed one of these? how much of a pita is it? should i get a shop to do it for me?

Default It should pretty much everything past 98.5 is plug and play.

its all give or take the same lay out.

Default Well, first thing, you have to be really careful with the airbag..

those things can kill you. You need to disconnect the battery, and let it sit for 15 minutes before you touch it. Next, you have to ground yourself to the car, to dissipate any static that you may be carrying.

There are 2 Torx bolts on the back of the wheel that hold the bag to the wheel. I forget the size, I think they are in the T25 area.

Once you get the bag off, you need to set it down FACE UP.

Then you need a large socket, I think it's 22, but it could be 24 mm to get the wheel off.

It's been a while since I have done this, so I am fuzzy on the sizes.

not really morons, isnt like like around 1200 from the dealer? the airbag is expensive...

I have one on my 98.5. Fits fine. Awesome. Got hooked up for $350 from the dude there!
