Default ok I know this is OT but give me some advice.

I'm want to purchase a beater to drive around like a mad man. I'm trying to decide between 2 cars.

1990 Audi 80 112,000 miles FWD, 5speed. $800

Only downside of this car is the transmission Slips out of Third Gear.

1986 BMW 325e 210K miles. 5 speed $500

downside of this car besides being 21 years old is it needs new rotors and pads. some rust on fenders and clear coat is pealing.

I want to get the audi because I want to stay in the family but I'm leaning towards the BMW because the slipping third gear on the audi is scaring me.

opinions?

If you have to pick one, go with the BMW. RWD is better than WWD.

Default 2nd......they will both be big money pits......

The purchase prices are likely the average monthly prices you'll need to spend to keep the cars operational....

Default ahahha no point - i have a bunch of friends that have miata

they say that you can't get that much out of the turbo and the amount of money you have to throw in - even if you get it the engine can't hold too much boost and most of the promise of higher hp is unfounded. Rather spend that large sump of cash on suspension, roll cage, brakes, good tires - the best Miata to get are the older ones that have a smaller engine but they have better gear ratio
