ok i'm p*ssed 10k on my waterpump and it's making noise at idle
can I do this thing and weasel it out without pulling the timing belt?
It looks like it, so I hope so because I did it all about 10k miles ago.

it's done AEB i pulled the belt, only removed the oilpump sprocket, marked them
and the belt with chalk (couldn't find whiteout) then loosened the bolt for the tensioner a bit, used the 8mm allen and ratchet to compress the tensioner. I kept the old tensioner and had the pin installed in it, who would of thought? I was sooo glad i did this.
I had less than 20k on $400 worth of timing belt/wp/belts. and wasn't going to respend.
I had the car disassembled and water pump out in an hour. reassemble took a bit more time since i was doing everything solo.
It's all done now, used a dealer pump, gasket (much better quality), and some fresh G12.
I'm just glad this happened BEFORE my roadtrip next week.
