Default OK last suspension question I promise :) About rolling fenders...

I know I am going to have to roll my fenders. It is important for me to do this before I install the suspension. Do I just have to take it easy over bumps or will the tires and wheels just not fit? Omid has Koni/Intrax and he told me he had to roll on his 2.8Q.

do it whenever you want to do it.... as long as you dont have a wide tire/rim.. you should be ok.

Default clearance issues may be on inside not outside

I have 225/40 on 18x8 ET35 wheels with no rubbing except from the front when at an extreme turning angle and hitting a bump. I would guess you will be no closer to the fenders than I am but something like 10mm closer to the suspension bits. I have adequate but not lots of clearance between the inside ofthe tire and the upper part of the hub carrier casting - or whatever it is called. That might be tight for you. Since that clearance doesnt change while driving (or lowering the car) you can easily tell by mounting the wheel/tire if you are good or not.

Default Do you mean...

The inside like the gap between the control arms on the top and my tire? If so I allready have the wheels and tires on and it is VERY close. Especially in the back. I mean like millimeters no pinky fitting in there, but haven't any problems in 9K miles.

If I understand you correctly when I put the drop on this gap will not change right?

Default That is what I mean...

Althought I dont the the clearance issue is with the upper control arms so much as the casting that they attach to at the wheel. But if you have clearance there then you should be pretty good elsewhere.

Lowering the car (for reference around 1.5" below stock or .75" below sport - such as what you get with the Audi acessory sport springs or Eurosports) wont put the present wheel closer to the fender lips however with the front wheels turned and the springs compressed you do get closer to that point at the top of the front lips where a screw connects the lip to the liner. I can get that to rub even with my stock size winter tires if I try, but I know what situations cause it and I avoid them.

Default Thanks. I will be going with Intrax motorola cup and Koni's and from what I've seen it will be

pretty low, but sounds like I should be fine at least long enough to drive to the fender roll shop.

Thanks for the help,
Bill
