Default OK...lets talk wheel liners

I know you can add one to cool your turbo from a S4. Why did audi not put this on in the first place. I heard you can drill holes, but some one said that you will get dirt on your turbo, I would think that would happen on the S4 liner also.

Finnaly. I have 0 mods, whould this even do anything for me?

The S4 liner has louvers that face down, preventing crap from passing through it.

Default I think, and Im not sure cuz of my newbie status, but I think its cuz an S4 is a Bi-turbo

so it might need more cooling then our single turbo...but an expert is welcomed to chime in...I wouldnt want to mis-lead you.

It will vent your intercooler, can't hurt to have one...

Default I think you're right, S4's get really hot and it helps vent the engine compartment...

as well as the IC's. And even for A4's, every bit of cooling helps. Besides, the liner is soo cheap.

Default Its a good way to spend $32 and KNOW that nothing bad will happen and its a fun easy mod.

I probably wont do any more for you than a "Type R" sticker at this point in time but it certainly wont hurt and it will mean you must do other things to take advantage of that sweet liner install.

Default Actually, the S4 has 2 intercoolers, and the wheel well liners are right next to them both...

so they actually allow for air to go through the intercooler and out the other side, argueably also creating a vacuum by the spinning wheel... thereby sucking more air through...

Which brings up the other side... on the S4, there is an intercooler on each side (as I guess I already mentioned) but the A4 only has one, so the passenger one is just a vent into the engine bay...

I have both, and have noticed few problems...

in the winter, my under tray was sorta salty, as the slush could splash in through the vents, but whatever, nothing to worry about... and I can't imagine it doesn't have better cooling...

bad way to run a business
