it's only rated at 8-11psi, and I called M1 recently to double check that.
you still get oil into the filter element, but if the filter gets clogged with something, you're only going to get 8-11psi through the bypass when the engine wants 25-33psi = a huge oil pressure drop in teh engine.
so, I returned it, and called up Joe for a couple of more Mann 940/25 filters.

UPDATE: I'm the idiot, apparently, but yet I'm not sure I'm the only one. I checked off Valvoline
oil instead of M1. They're sending the $10.
I guess they couldn't cross-check my provided rebate receipt showing the M1 that I purchased and that there was a M1 rebate on the forum just below the one I checked.
Honestly, I think that's the last time I shop Pepboys unless I really need something from them. When I tried to return the #301 M1 filter, the Manager on duty was such a d1ck to me. He couldn't even let me finish talking to describe that I wanted to return it for a different PN. He just stopped me before I could even say anything that I had the wrong receipt that I couldn't return it without the rebate receipt. No, d1ckhead, I want to replace it for another one for the same value (and has nothing to do with the rebate). let me finish talking, Mr. know-it-all who thinks I'm trying to steal $5 from you. Then, I walk back to get the filter and I forget the PN for my wife's SUV, but I know it's on the receipt. So, instead of walking the other half and flipping throught that book, I turn back to the manager to check the PN. He gives me the 301 number before I even finish asking my question of the PN. No d1ckhead, why would I want to know the PN of the filter that I'm returning? I want the PN for the other filter on the receipt to get a spare one to stock at home for next time. So, I get the correct one off of the shelf and I can hear him going on some rant to a customer about how people come in with receipts trying to return things that also get a rebate. I was about to tear into him, but figured this douche isn't worth my time. I actually surprised myself by stating to him that the M1 rep that I called told me that the PN provided by Pepboys was for a filter that doesn't have the required bypass flow for my car and could damage my motor. He really had nothing to say after that, which, if I was him, I would've wanted to know which car to find out if that was true, but he didn't seem to really care. Nice overall customer service, d1ckhead. Advanced Auto and AutoZone will get my business for chain type places.
