Ok, search gave me inconsistent info, so let's see if I have this right (more)
I can replace my ECU with another from a 2.8 as long as the ECU numbers match. The various options (Quattro, FWD, Manual or Tip) do not matter because they are all controlled by the software code. As long as I use a VAG to recode the ECU for a Quattro manual, it should be fine. Have I got this right? I don't want to purchase an ECU that won't work. TIA.
