Default Opinion on stock sized rotor for a DD?

Hey Guys,

I was wondering what your opinions are of different rotor companies.

My car is a DD and will be using pads along the line of Axxis Deluxe Plus Pads. The car is garaged both at home and at work.

I saw that the price difference between

Guardian/Raybestos rotors and Ate/Zimmerman rotors are ~$25 per side. Is the price difference worth it for my style of driving?

Thanks

Default Stay away from Axxis Deluxe

I have them now...they are garbage. I changed all my rotors and pads last fall. I would have to say that the braking now pretty much has the worst feel of any new pad I've ever felt. There is no bite, and the braking distance just sucks, bordering on unsafe. I have ATE slotted rotors in the front, which I also hate.

I am seriously thinking about getting new OEM rotors and pads for the front, even though these are less than 10k miles old. Complete garbage.

2nd. You have to consider how long they'll last in addition to price.

Default 2nd 2nd. ;-) ATE is an OEM supplier for Audi

If you're gonna do the work yourself, remember to thoroughly clean the face and collar of the hub where the rotor mounts. Use wet or dry sandpaper and get down to clean metal (any rust there can cause the rotor to wobble just enough to reduce braking effectiveness).

Default ATE/Zimmerman/Brembo/Centric??

Hey guys,

I found Ate / Zimmerman / Brembo rotors all within a dollar of each other. Which one of the three would you prefer.

Also, has anyone ever tried the Centric rotors that come with the black colors hub. Any increase in rotor life?
