If you have the right tools, theres not much to it.
You remove everything around the assembely, undo the bolts, switch shifters and the plastic peice, put a ziptie around the plastic peice, so it holds in their nice and tight.
The pieces that raise up the strat SS are a PITA, but the shifter is well worth the money and time to install.
Than re-install.
I'm usually afraid to do things like that, and I ask for help, but it's a straightforward install.

I just did it 2 days ago...
I'm not a mechanically inclinded person at all and I was able to do it in around 3 to 4 hours (excluding the time that I spent getting replacement bolts and grease). It isn't impossible but nor it is a walk in the park. Plan to do it early in the morning so you have the whole day to work on it plus the sunlight really help (I started in late afternoon and eventually I had to work on it with a flash light which made everything more difficult. Having a friend around is definitely a good idea because he can help you hold up certain parts while you are trying to line up the screws or washers etc. By the way if you don't have small hands your job will probably much harder too. I have small hands and I still had a hard time working within that tiny space. Good luck and once you've done it right you'll feel the trouble is worth it. The Strat SS is really a great piece of product and I love the short solid shift.
