Default SEARCH!

"coding tip computer" yields some good results.

Default Perhaps you misunderstood. It seems to me that WJM was discussing not

Tip coding but rather adaptation values and how to reset them (switching to Basic Setting, right?).

Paper Bentley does mention that the Tip needs to be BS'd but no procedures are listed. Ditto the Bentley CD.

So, if anyone knows how to reset the Tip, I'd like to know.

And, don't know why but that search didn't produce much...<ul><li><a href="http://search.audiworld.com/index.html?q=coding+tip+computer&amp;u=&amp;s=all& amp;cat=010001&amp;db=1999-01-01&amp;de=2005-10-18">search results</a></li></ul>

Default Thanks. Recoding the Tip should make as much sense as recoding the ECU in order to TBA ;-)

Ross-Tech's page gives instructions to use Engine --&gt; Block 063 in Basic Settings.
Bentley CD indeed has this process documented but for the S4 (albeit a little more detailed).
No word on the A4's tip tranny though.

LOL! I'm going to try Block 063 and then exercise Option D as needed ...
