Autozone has them .... Meguiar's Clay Bar Kit. I think it's like $10-15.

Default Are the dealerships still giving them away in the "windshield care kit"?

If so, I'd definately pick one up there. There's a coupon for a clay bar and detailer in the back of the windshield care brochure at the dealerships, or at least there was about 6 months ago. It's a 3M product.

Default It's literally a clay bar you rub on your car's painted surfaces to remove contaminents.

It's not something you should do often, but if you have a lot of tree sap, overspray, etc., it does a great job. Just keep a thin layer of soapy water or the recommended detailer spray in between the clay and the surface, AND knead the bar often so dirt particles aren't 'scraping' the surface.

Default You should do a little browsing in the Auto Detaling Forum but...

...basically it is a playdough like substance that was created to help remove paint overspray from an auto finish. It does an excellent job of removing almost anything that is stuck to a cars paint without scratching the finish. It is an excellent step between washing and polishing/waxing.
