Here you go....
Bill,
A couple of easy options:
1. You can use Yahoo's lease calculator. Premier purchase calculates out just like a lease.
2. Microsoft Excel has a relevant function (sorry, can't think of what it's called.)
In lieu of that, here's a formula:
pmt=[pv((1+r)^n) - fv][r/(((1+r)^n)-1)]
pmt: monthly payment
pv: present value (amount financed)
r: interest rate, per month
n: number of months
fv: future value (residual)
All these options came out within a few pennies of each other and of Audi Financial's calculation for me, although I can't vouch for audiusa.com.
In case you're interested, as of 12/3/99, the residuals on a '00 A4 1.8TQ 48 month Premier Purchase were 55% for 15k miles per year, and 57% for 12k miles. These are percentage of MSRP *including* destination charge.

Thanks DougR...
I didnt realize they used the same formulas as leasing. i was guessing it would cost me about 2ooo more to go with the premier plan but i just wanted to double check my guess. I ran my numbers and it was 2047 more so I was close

performance upgrades for 2k A4 1.8tq manual
Hey all,
I'm a brand spankin' new first time audi owner (and lovin' it). My only complaint is the 1.8t's somewhat wimpy overall power (my last car was a 93' Prelude VTEC). Can you guys recommend the best bang for your buck upgrade? I went with the 1.8t over the 2.8 because it was cheaper and I've heard their aren't a lot of good inexpensive mods for the 2.8 like their are for the 1.8t. I'd like to be on a more even keel with my buddy's brand new 2000 integra GS-R (1.8l 170hp). Thanks for your advice.

You need a Chip...
You can get an easy 30 to 50 extra hp by chipping your 1.8T.
Search the Forum Archives for "Chip" and you'll find a wealth of information/issues/opinions.
GIAC and APR chips seem to be the hot commodities at the moment.
Good Luck - Rog

Re: performance upgrades for 2k A4 1.8tq manual
Hey...nice car! i own a 99 a4 1.8t (atuomatic), and guess what! i have a chip in mine, (TAP), and one of my cloest friends owns an integra GS-R with headers, exhaust, and intake, and I WHIP that thing to 60mph, to 80 i beat him, but to 100 he seems to even it up...Vtec is quick, but your turbo should be quicker since u have a manual...get a chip, exhaust, a filter, and you will be screaming along, should beat that acura anywhere! with the chip ull be thrown back into your seat with some nice g forces after 2600 or so RPM, his acura wont make NEARLY as much power anywhere, and it makes its minimal power at around 6800-8000rpm...u should nicely toast him...good luck!
