perhaps a dumb question about tire pressure...
I just got new wheels and tires. My previous tires were S-02 225/45/17 and the new ones are S-03 225/40/18. I liked my 17" tire pressure at 38psi. Does 38psi on 17" equal 38psi on 18"? In other words, should I inflate the new tires the same as the old or is it different?

I imagine that whatever readout you get from your tire pressure gauge, is the same measurement of lb/ sq in, ft whatever it is. In otherwords, although there may be more air in a tire, that is 18" as opposed to 17", the pressure exerted is the same.
I'm running 36 on 15". I did ride on 38 before, but my suspension isnt that great and I could really feel it. My suggestion would be to experiment a little bit with a little less pressure..i.e. 36 and then go up if needed.
Hope that helps.

just a guess..
but since you say your tires are less profile with the same width, i'd got maybe 36 psi instead of 38. Like jatea4 said, just try it out I noticed a huge difference in my car with 225/45/17 going from 36 to 38.
