pics of new APR exhaust + UPS damage + packaging suggestion
welp, just got my APR exhaust:
<img src="http://24.11.140.224/audiworld/newexhaust.jpg">
today and finally got around to take some pics of it along with the UPS damage. I got the box with this huge RIP so I stuck my hand through the hole and I could feel one of the pipes...uh oh! So I unpackaged everything and sure enough one one of the pipes was damaged!
<img src="http://24.11.140.224/audiworld/bentpipe1.jpg">
<img src="http://24.11.140.224/audiworld/bentpipe2.jpg">
soon after discovering this bend I found that one of the tips had two dinks in it too
<img src="http://24.11.140.224/audiworld/benttip.jpg">
as compared to the still straight tip:
<img src="http://24.11.140.224/audiworld/straighttip.jpg">
I'm guessing that I can just bang out the pipe with a hammer since that whole thing slips into the socket pretty deep.
I must say that this is one quality piece of work! If I were APR though I would put a very THICK piece of cardboard on the sides to stop the pipes from puncturing the sides of the shipping box and not damage this expensive piece of equipment I'm not quite sure as to how the tip got banged...probably not enough bubble wrap or something on that piece. Not a big deal, just won't look as pretty
Anyone else have similar experience / comments?

it would prolli be a real pain, but...
if i were in your situation, i would report this to UPS and have them take care of getting a new exhaust for you. since it was their fault, they should be able to get you one next day air. that's just what i would make them do. otherwise, congrats on the exhaust! if you wouldn't mind, i'd really like to hear how it sounds sometime.

Believe me its a PITA...
I had UPS drop a computer that I had bought. What ended up happening is they reimburse the SHIPPER for the amount it was insured for. I would contact APR ASAP and try to have them help you resolve this. You really don't want to let it slide with UPS.
I eventually got my money back but I had to first wait for a UPS person to come and inspect the computer before they would allow the payment. I had to show them where the dmage was to the box and computer, and then how the computer started smokin1g when I actually tried to turn it on. HAHA The UPS guy had to determine if the package was wrapped properly and if in fact there was damage done by UPS.
Either way, you deserve to get a perfect system for how much $$ you paid.

I'd complain to ups/APR before grabbing a hammer...
but if you do decide to fix it, here's an idea for the tip.
At your local auto parts store they sell these things called pipe-expanders. They're made out of cast iron wedges, they're round, and have one big bolt in the middle. The idea is, you turn the bold and the diameter changes. they're used to flare exhaust pipe, but for you it would help round out the tip.

Prolly wasn't damaged in transit
My guess is that someone from UPS opened the box, took them out, banged them up a bit, and then put the pipes back in.
As far-fetched as it sounds, it's very likely given past experiences and the stories I've heard.

Call APR - they've got great customer service. Suggest to them that, rather than sending it back...
at their expense, you'd like to have a $50 or $100 credit to your card. I think, given the damage, they'll go for it.
Then again - they might blame it on UPS, because in reality, it's as much their fault for tossing it around like a box of bricks as it is APR for their packing job.
