Default place to get a4 worked on in Lehigh valley PA?

it is currently at the dealer on lehigh street and will have to be towed wherever it is going, so some place around there would be great.
Thanks

this is for the starter

Default I normally just send mine to knopf...

but that's cuz I know the mechanic, and my dad has been going to the dealer long enough that we get a break on the labor if we lean on them.

They charging you an arm and a leg I'm guessing? See if you can get them to lower their quote. If not, I'm really not too familiar with any other shop nearby that would be able to do it.

Default Try Kresge Foreign Cars in Bethlehem...

they specialize in Audi / Porsche. Talk to Dave or Adam. It's a small place but they do good work.

Default Hey... Nice Ride! I was over there (Kresges) Friday and Sat. doing a

Timing belt etc. Seen your car outside... nice hood/wheels. Dave said Knopf tried to rip you off.

Default yea-- it was a complete joke

They wanted to charge me a bit over $600 to replace the starter-- something i could do in 1.5 - 2 hours if i were at home and had all my tools. A starter is about $130 so they wanted like $470 + bucks in labor for something that would probably get done in just over an hour with people who do it for a living. Thanks for the compliments -- raw carbomfiber is not really a look i like, but a tow hook demolished my old hood and it was basically the same price for that as a oem painted. I will paint that when i get the chance. Maybe see ya around--

Default knopf is def. known for over pricing their parts...

I've seen that more than I like to admit. I was quoted $1500 to do my evap core when it broke last summer/fall. 10 hours in labor and rest in parts. Which was to say that it wa about $800 in labor (not a far cry at all cuz it took me forever to do it myself) but the $700 was obscene. I got the parts for under $400 and that included the heater core which I also replaced since I had everything apart.

Prices aren't the greatest, but I've never really found a reason to complain about the quality of their service.

Kresges is also a good place... my friend had his 914 fixed up there... not cheap... but not nearly as overpriced as knopf.
