please help

my car stalled while i was driving about 40-50miles per hour so i started down shifting the car to get it started..then when i stopped the car just died..it wont start until 3 mins later and like nothing happen..it drove like its brand new again..this happen to me last year and it was doing erratically but only when i am idling and when i put the car in gear in 1st..this happen 4 times last year and the dealer couldnt recreate it until the 4th time when they were removing my ecu the car stalled and it wont start..they said and replace my wire harness going to the ecu and from dec (44000 miles ) to yesterday it was going on strong (52814 miles)..i didnt tell them i have the wett chip but i had the wett chip at 22000 miles and the turbo timer at 33000 miles ....does anybody have any idea what is happening? please help...i love the car but it is making me nervous...

Is my guess! I'd consider dumping in some dry gas a nice drive then a fuel filter change.

Three basic things in balance make an engine run. Air, Fuel, Spark. Of course,
the delivery systems of each are very complex in the modern car. But the fact that you stalled out and then restarted sounds like fuel.

Second, would be electrical. Who on the board migh lend an idea as to what electrical component might fail and then reset?

chip socket failure?

I had a bad socket (from an ECu upgrade) that resulted in the ECU shutting down or going bonker's once in a while. Did you have a check engine light? If so, did it report "RAM error" or some other computer-like failure message when quesried with a VAG?
