Default Please Help. Any input Would be Good.

My turbo keeps turning itself down (from 14 psi to 5psi). I checked the trouble codes and one came up for a knock sensor that was intermitted or something like that. Can this be caused by a faultty knock sensor, or is there detonation elsewhere? Please Help as this is driving me nuts.

Default I take it you only have a chip as a mod?

Check your plugs and gap them, clear the codes...see if it comes back. If it does, check your fuel trims and make sure they are good. If they are, its probably the stupid sensor. Are you going into Limp Mode?

Default yea, it automatically goes into limp mode all the time

I have the chip, and exhaust mostly. My plugs are automatically gapped I thought(the triple pronged ones). What do you mean by checking the fuel trims?

Default another thing to check...

turn everything off on the car, open the hood and just listen to the engine. Do you hear any detonation or pinging? any rattles or vibrations?

the knock sensors are pretty testy, mine was tripped when I had some issues with my timing belt tensioner.

Default just checked it and there is a slight knocking noise somewhere

near the intake, but thats about it.

Default Fuel trims tell you if you are running lean/rich. Make sure you aren't running lean when boost

sets in. If you are, you could have clogged injectors or fuel filter or something. Enough that it doesn't affect you pre boost, but when you need more fuel for the higher compression ratio, there isn't enough fuel.

probably your secondary injection system. clear codes, see if it returns.
