Default plug in maf.. car dies.. unplug maf car fine.. replace maf and plug in maf car dies

unplug maf car fine...

what's up?

obviously by fine i mean car will drive somewhat more normals... if i plug in the maf.. the car will run but the motor gets flooded.. if i drive it i can smell gas all the time. So obviously it's causing some sort of rich condition when plugging in the maf.. so basically WTF? bad maf wiring?

Default Gremlins.

Maybe a bad MAF?

Trace the wires back to the ECU, make sure you don't have any pinched or open wires anywhere. It's gotta be something halfways logical, it isn't like you are working on a 90's GM product here...*rolls eyes* :P

Default bad maf, wrong sized maf housing (too small) for the tune, leak between maf and intake valves...

inconsistent air flow over MAF sensor (no straightener before MAF?)

Default Check your intake hose (where it hooks to turbo) this sometimes losens and comes off

Happened to me and the car would barely run with the Maf plugged in. ended up the intake hose was was torn by the clamp.

Default step 1: drive car to open field

step 2: open gas door and remove gas cap

Step 3: shove gas soaked rag in filler tube

Step 4: Light said rag on fire

Step 5: roast marshmellows on open flames and enjoy the wonderful smell of melting rubber and plastic.
